    MERCHANT OF VENICE
    This is an original 1883 autograph from English actors Sir Henry Irving (1838-1905) and Dame Ellen Terry (1847-1928).  They were in New York performing William Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice. This signed letter has a quote from both actors.  Henry Irving's quote is from Martin Luther and Ellen Terry's is from the play.  Also included is a photo caricature of the two.
    These two pieces were framed over seven decades ago.  All the photos were taken without removing the glass.  The back was cut out to adhere the JSA sticker and the paper backing is now off  but will be included.  As framed the letter measures almost 8 x 8 inches and the caricature measures 5 x 4 inches.  Overall the frame is approximately 18 x 12.5 inches.
