Description
Lovely and charming original antique silver gelatin postcard photo of a seated Ellen Terry dressed in fur coat and hat, holding her beloved white Pomeranian, circa 1900–1905, sight size 5" x 3-1/4", handsomely double-matted and framed in gilded wood, the overall dimensions 10-3/8" x 8-3/4", the image signed in ink, " 'Bruin' & Ellen Terry." A bit of mild surface wear to frame, and a few strokes of inscription with irregular ink flow, otherwise clean, attractive and fine overall (not examined outside frame).A wonderful signed image of the renowned and storied actress (1847–1928), best known for her onstage interpretations of Shakespeare, Shaw, and Ibsen, as well as screen roles during the infancy of cinema. A 1903 issue of the
Royal Magazine
pictures Terry with what appears to be the same dog, with the caption "The young Pomeranian in her arms is the latest addition to her many pets—dogs and cats and birds. For Miss Terry has always been passionately fond of animals. . . ."

IMPORTANT NEW NOTE ON SHIPPING--PLEASE READ.
I'm not a fan of fine print and disclaimers, but a number recent developments have contributed to likely delays in shipping:
1) Recent changes at the USPS have resulted in longer shipping times, particularly to more distant destinations (i.e., the south, midwest, and west). Please take this into account. I generally ship using the least expensive class that's appropriate, but I will gladly make arrangements for expedited shipping upon request. If there are any issues with delays/tracking, please contact me immediately—I am happy to assist.
2) Most sellers are now required to enroll in eBay's Managed Payments program. As part of this program,
eBay holds every buyer's payment for two business days before releasing it to the seller.
This means that if you pay late on a Thursday night, your payment will not clear until at least Tuesday. If you pay on a Monday morning, your payment will not clear until at least Wednesday. Again, please take this into account.
In case of any issues or problems, please contact me before opening a request or dispute.
As my long feedback record makes clear, I strive to provide accuracy in descriptions, great care in packaging and shipping, and excellent customer service.
