Description
Up for sale is a Majestic Gateway Series 3.5 Octave Xylophone with resonators and rolling case (padauk bars). The bars are 1.5” wide and 3/4” in thickness. This instrument (with the added case, without wheels) goes for 00+/- new plus tax and shipping (as applicable; appears to be discontinued although not explicitly stated?). I'm selling it for 99.99 OBO. In addition to the information I’ve provided below, here is the Majestic listing on the instrument:https://www.majestic-percussion.com/product/x5535dr/

I am the 2nd owner of this instrument and have used it minimally as a practice instrument with mostly rubber mallets and occasionally Becker Blues but nothing harder than that. The instrument is still in great condition, and I’d love for it to go to a good home! I have one too many xylophones currently, so I’m just cleaning up shop a little bit. This is a great practice instrument or would be great for a school, community band, private studio, etc. There are a few very minor marks/spots on the bars (came with it when I purchased) which are pictured - they do not affect the quality or intonation of those bars, but should be noted nonetheless.
The bars are tuned to A442 and were all checked with a tuner and are still very well in tune and sounding great, but don’t take my word for it: check out the sound demo! The bars might benefit from a restringing as well, but it is also still fine to be played as-is!
The only downside to this instrument is that the posts that hold the bars are plastic with a rubber insert. Since they are plastic, if not moved carefully/used with caution, they may break. Luckily, I have some extra plastic posts as well as rubber inserts for this instrument, which I have packaged along with the bars.
With the case, this instrument is a little too big for the boxes I have available to ship, so I’d really like to sell locally. If that doesn’t pan out, I’ll potentially look into shipping the instrument. The instrument comes with resonators and the rolling case. If purchasing locally, I’ll also throw in a couple of pairs of mallets of your choosing.
Purchase options:
