Vintage J.C. Deagan Organ Bell Harp Racks 3 Octave Chicago USA

Up for auction is a  Vintage J.C. Deagan Organ Bell Harp Racks set up like a Xylophone. Made in Chicago. Last date on patents panel located on end of one of the key frame racks is May 5,1925 (see pics). I don't know the year this instrument was built. The # 1637 are stamped on both C keys as well as both Key frame racks (see pics). Probably for set identification. Both C keys have J C Deagan. INC. Chicago Made in USA  Patented July 21-14, Feb 2-15, Feb-16 (see pics). A 440 key has stamp on it (see pics).Some of the resonators have cracks in them (see pics). I thank the way the end caps were pressed in, over time they cracked. Does Not effect sound. Resonators are a little more tarnished than pics show. I replaced rubber insulators that rotted on screws w/felt & rods between keys. The last B-key on top rack - is the only screw that's not original. Chrome has rust, pitting and shows signs of usage (see pics). Keys and resonators graduate in size (see pics). Rack stand is not original, but nice and sturdy. On a organ bell harp the two racks of bars are suspended sideways and had hammers that played them. Hence the whole key set up. Some one made a stand so one person can play and transport it like a mallet instrument. After playing & looking at the instrument it dose make sense how the keys are set up. Definitely set up different than todays mallet instruments. This instrument sounds so AWESOME  when using soft, med and hard yarn marimba mallets. The keys really sing. The timbre of this instrument sounds mellow to sharp, full and beautiful to the ear when using yarn to nylon mallets. If your a Pro or just for fun mallet player.
